Plug&Play System

What is it ?

It is an innovative HDPE pipe jointing system with a push fit socket for the conveyance of fluids under pressure ( PN-6-10-16).

Why use it?

It is quick to join, simple and reliable. Avoids all complex manual or automatic operations (electrofusion or butt welding, glues, mechanical fittings) and increases the safety for the installer.

Where can it be used ?

In adverse weather conditions where welding is problematic ; damp atmosphere; tough site terrains (mountains, deserts, etc.); lack of qualified welders; no electricity; high productivity required for both pipes and fittings; maximum flexibility in adapting to the conditions of the job site (urban areas).

Details of the Plug&Play System

Polythene pipes for pressurised water supply systems have a wide selection of joint types. The choice depends above all on the diameter, application and maximum working pressure. Sometimes, it can also depend on site conditions and schedules. PLUG&PLAY  type socket joints allow pipes of any length as well as specials to be connected together easier and quicker than all other systems currently used. Where advantageous or necessary, the use of welding equipment, electricity and specialised qualified personnel for effecting the joints can be avoided, while at the same time reducing maintenance and repairs if and when necessary. The increase in site productivity becomes evident by the rapid execution of the joints, highlighting the economies obtainable during installation. Adverse weather conditions and water in the trench are no longer problems, as is the case in butt-welding or electric welding systems. The direct insertion of the “spigot” (clean and with the end appropriately chamfered) in the socket also guarantees greater security in terms of correct installation, as opposed to mechanical couplings, avoiding manual dismantling and re-assembly. The PLUG&PLAY socket joining system is supplied ready for use on site.

Technical specifications

High density PE100 polyethylene pipes for transporting potable water, sewerage, food-grade and non food-grade liquids, complies with standard BSEN 12201. This innovative push fit system is available in diameters 63mm - 250mm and is suitable for working pressures up to 16 Bar and test pressures up to 32 Bar. The socket is designed to house a double-lipped watertight sealing gasket working alongside an efficient locking system. The locking system is designed around a grip ring manufactured from techno-polymer contained in a conical seating recess which ensures mechanical locking and increasing pull out resistance due to the force induced by the working pressure. Before effecting the joint, the spigot to be inserted in the socket must besufficiently clean, free of cuts and the edges chamfered to prevent damage to the seal.
